When it comes to charity, there are two areas that Linkfarr Sdn Bhd would like to chip in:
- Development of youth from the underprivileged groups.
- Providing vocational skills to the hard core poor from rural areas.
Under the first category, the company plan to start with a meaningful program by the middle of 2008. Right now the areas of focus are still in the research stage.
For the second category, the company has embarked on two successful programs. The first program was on delivering traditional massage skills to the selected hardcore poor groups in Negeri Sembilan. With the cooperation of the Negeri Sembilan state government, the company managed to conduct two sessions of this training program. These sessions were made possible by utilizing the hard core poor budget under the PPRT Scheme.
The second program was made possible by using Linkfarr’s own budget. The company has successfully conducted two sessions of commercial “Nasi Biryani Johor” cooking training program for the selected folks of Kubu Gajah, Selama, Perak and Simpang Empat, Alor Gajah, Melaka.
Forty individuals were selected to attend this program. The first session was conducted at Kubu Gajah, Selama, Perak. The second was conducted at Simpang Empat, Alor Gajah.
The objectives of this program were to transfer the relevant knowledge on the right technique of biryani cooking and to deliver the relevant skills for the participants to embark on selling “Nasi Biryani” on a small scale basis.
Chef Hassan Abdul Rahman and his team of experts were chosen to facilitate this program.
